GHSA State Championship @Carrollton HS 11/2/18

The Gator boys and girls cross country teams competed in the GHSA State Championship cross country race on Friday 11/2/18. The Gator girls team finished 23 rd out of 29 teams and the boys finished 30 th out of 32 teams competing. The girls race hosted 199 runners who finished the race. The top 5 finishers for the girls were Eason Bennett (fr) placing 81 st with a time of 23:32, Bailey Moore (so) placing 82 nd with a time of 23:38, Mia Sandiford (jr) placing 168 th with a time of 27:09, Anne Lin (jr) placing 174 th with a time of 28:15, and Kendall Moore (so) placing 182 nd with a time of 29:27. Also running for the girls team were Maree Harris (sr) finishing 186 th with a time of 30:45 and Aaliyah Sandiford (jr) who DNF. The boys race hosted 222 runners who finished the race. The top 5 finishers for the boys were Byron McKelvin (jr) placing 136 th with a time of 19:38, Ethan Frye (jr) placing 170 th with a time 20:30, Bruce Altman (jr) placing 181 st with a time of 20:43, Josh Troupe (so) placing 195 th with a time of 21:24, and Caleb Crawford (jr) placing 198 th with a time of 21:35. Also running for the boys were Timothy Musgrove (fr) finishing 206 th with a time of 22:21 and Nathan Hale (jr) finishing 215 th with a time of 21:35. Region Cross Country Results

The Gator cross country teams competed this afternoon in the region 2 AAAAA championship meet hosted by South Effingham High School at the New Ebenezer Family Retreat Center in Rincon GA.  The Gator girls placed 2^nd in the region and the Gator boys placed 4^th in the region.  Freshman Eason Bennett placed 5^th out of 32 runners in the girls race which makes her first team all-region.  Both  the girls team and the boys team qualified for the GHSA AAAAA state championship meet to be held at Carrollton HS next Friday, November 2^nd.  The complete state championship schedule can be accessed through www.ghsa.net  Scoring for the Gator girls were Eason Bennett (fr.) placing 5^th with a time of 22:38, Bailey Moore (so.) placing 10^th with a time of 23:31, Maree Harris (sr.) placing 14^th with a time of 24:59, Aaliyah Sandiford (jr.) placing 15^th with a time of 25:01, and Anne Lin (jr.) placing 16^th with a time of 26:03.  The top 5 boys runners were Byron McKelvin (jr.) placing 11^th with a time of 18:14, Bruce Altman (jr.) placing 17^th with a time of 19:07, Josh Troupe (so.) placing 25^th with a time of 20:16, Ethan Frye (jr.) placing 27^th with a time of 20:42, and Timothy Musgrove (fr.) placing 28^th with a time of 20:43.

Ware Co. Cross Country Results @ Wayne Co. 10/4/18

 

The Gators competed at Wayne Co. HS on Thursday 10/4/18 against 13 teams.  The boys team placed 8^th out of 13 and the girls team placed 5^th out of 13 teams competing.  The girls had an exceptional day with 4 of the top 5 runners setting a PR (personal record).  Placing in the top 5 for the girls were Bailey Moore (so.) placing 9^th with a time of 23:06, Aalyiah Sandiford (jr.) placing 25^th with a time of 23:55, Eason Bennett (fr.) placing 26^th with a time of 23:57, Maree Harris (sr.) finishing 32^nd with a time of 25:04, and Anne Lin (jr.) placing 48^th with a time of 26:05.  The top 5 boys runners were Byron McKelvin (jr.) placing 4^th with a time of 17:37, Bruce Altman (jr.) placing 45^th with a  time of 20:09, Timothy Musgrove (fr.) placing 48^th with a time of 20:27, Josh Troupe (so.) placing 67^th with a time of 21:14, and Ethan Frye (jr.) placing 69^th with a time of 21:17.  The Varsity Gators will travel to Albany on Saturday 10/13/18 to compete in the Westover Invitational.  The first race begins at 9:00 am.  Team scores and individual times are listed below:
