Southern Georgia XC Championship 9/23/21

 

The Gator Country teams competed in the 5^th annual Southern Georgia XC Championship held at Jeff Davis Middle School and hosted by Jeff Davis High School on Thursday 9/23/21.  The Gators placed 23^rd out of 25 teams in the field while the Lady Gators placed 3^rd overall out of 20 teams in the field and they won the large school division (Classes 5A – 7A).  The boys race hosted 308 runners and the girls race hosted 188 runners.  The top 5 Gators were Jon Robertson (jr.) Placing 81^st with a time of 20:46, Landon Nettles (so.) placing 201^st with a time of 23:26, Corbitt Nettles (fr.) placing 207^th with a time of 23:36, Hayden Clement (fr.) placing 215^th with a time of 23:57, and Gavin Bennett (so.) placing 218^th with a time of 24:09.  Also running for the Gators were Wyatt Deal (so.) placing 257th with a time of 26:26, Jesus Oropeza (so.) placing 274^th with a time of 27:25, and Caleb Freelove (sr.) placing 275^th with a time of 27:31.  The Lady Gators had 2 runners medal in the race.  The top 20 runners in the race received medals.  Selina Ocadiz (jr.) placed 11^th with a time of 22:15 and Keeli Holloway (so.) placed 16^th with a time of 22:38.  Also scoring in the top 5 for the Lady Gators were Evie Brown (jr.) placing 32^nd with a time of  23:54, Whitney Moore (so.) placing 41^st with a time of 24:27, and Samantha Savinon Rios (so.) placing 55^th with a time of 25:24.  Also running for the Lady Gators were Lindsy Moore (fr.) placing 59^th with a time of 25:31, Hannah Moore (so.) placing 70^th with a time of 26:20, Olivia Sanders (fr.) placing 83^rd with a time of 27:04, Madison Boland (fr.) placing 87^th with a time of 27:15, and Jaiden Addison (fr.) placing 166^th with a time of 34:12.  

The Cross Country teams will be travelling to Wayne County on Thursday 9/30/21.  The first race begins at 4:30 PM.

Results @ Wayne County 9/16/21

 The Gator Cross Country teams competed in their fourth meet of the season at Wayne Co. HS on a rainy Thursday afternoon.  There were 18 teams competing including Richmond Hill, South Effingham, Southeast Bulloch, Glynn Academy, Brunswick, Wayne, Camden, Effingham, Tattnall, Frederica Academy, Long, Bradwell Institute, Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, First Presbyterian, Ware and Liberty.  The Gators finished 17^th out of 18 in the field and the Lady Gators had a great performance finishing 2^nd out of the 13 scoring teams in the field.  The boys race hosted 155 runners and the girls race hosted 120 runners.  The top 5 Gator runners were Jon Robertson (jr.) finishing 85^th with a time of 20:35, Landon Nettles (so.) finishing 124^th with a time of 23:08, Wyatt Deal (so.) finishing 126^th with a time of 23:14, Corbitt Nettles (fr.) finishing 135^th with a time of 24:21, and Hayden Clement (fr.) finishing 136^th with a time of 24:28.  Also running for the Gators were So. Gavin Bennett (25:41) and  So. Jesus Oropeza (28:14).  The Lady Gators finished strong in a field that contained tough competition!  The top 5 Lady Gators were Evie Brown (jr.) placing 6^th with a time of 22:03, Keeli Holloway (so.) placing 7^th with a time of 22:04, Selina Ocadiz (jr.) placing 11^th with a time of 22:15, Whitney Moore (so.) placing 21^st with a time of 23:03, and Hannah Moore (so.) placing 39^th with a time of 24:18.  Also running for the Lady Gators were Fr. Madison Boland (24:54), Fr. Lindsy Moore (25:19), So. Samantha Savinon Rios (25:20), Fr. Olivia Sanders (26:25), and Fr. Jaiden Addison (30:54).  

The Gators and Lady Gators will be competing next Thursday at Jeff Davis middle school in the Southern Georgia XC Championship.  This is a very large race which contains 25+ teams in the field.  The boys race at 5:00 PM and the girls race at 5:45.

Results from Coffee County 9/11/2021

The Ware County cross country teams ran at Coffee Co. Saturday 9/11/21 competing against Coffee Co., Cook Co., ATCO, Wayne, Bacon, Warner Robins, Telfair, and Fitzgerald.  The Boys placed 9th out of the 9 teams competing and the Lady Gators placed 1st in the field for the day.  The boys race had 104 runners total and the girls race ran 64 for the day.  The boys ran at 8:30 AM and the top 5 runners were Jon Robinson (jr.) placing 25th with a time of 21:02, Landon Nettles (so.) placing 63rd with a time of 24:09, Gavin Bennett (so.) placing 64th with a time of 24:10, Corbitt Nettles (fr.) placing 79th with a time of 25:37, and Hayden Clement (fr.) placing 88th with a time of 27:39.  The top 5 Lady Gators were Keeli Holloway (so.) placing 3rd with a time of 22:25, Selena Ocadiz (jr.) placing 4th with a time of 22:27, Evie Brown (jr.) placing 7th with a time of 23:29, Whitney Moore (so.) placing 9th with a time of 24:30, and Samantha Savinon Rios (so.) placing 10th with a time of 25:27.  The Gators will travel to Wayne Co. on Thursday 9/16/21. 

The first race begins at 4:30.

Jekyll Island Invitational Hosted by Brunswick High School 9/4/21

 The Gator cross country teams competed in the Jekyll Island Invitational held at the Great Dunes Golf course, hosted by Brunswick High School on Saturday 9/4/21.  The Boys varsity race ran 107 runners and the Varsity girls race ran 101 runners.  The Gators placed 15th overall and the Lady Gators placed 9th overall.  The top 5 boys were Jon Robertson (jr.) placing 75th with a time of 20:39, Gavin Bennett (so.) placing 100th with a time of 24:49, Wyatt Deal (so.) placing 102nd with a time of 26:26, Jesus Oropeza (so.) placing 105th with a time of 27:46, and Caleb Freelove (sr.) placing 106th with a time of 28:02.  The top 5 Lady Gators were Keeli Holloway (so.) placing 34th with a time of 22:54.30, Selena Ocadiz (jr.) placing 35th with a time of 22:54.80, Evie Brown (jr.) placing 55th with a time of 24:19, Whitney Moore (so.) placing 60th with a time of 25:19, and Lindsy Moore (fr.) placing 81st with a time of 26:37. 

Gators will be competing at Coffee Co. next Saturday 9/11/21.  

The race will be held at Coffee Co. Middle School.  The first race begins at 8:00 AM
