Ware County Cross Country: August 2023

The Ware County cross country teams opened their season at home on Thursday hosting a total of 10 teams including Savannah Arts, Ware, Camden, Savannah CA, Brunswick, Long, Brantley, Wayne, Jenkins, and Effingham. The Ware Co. girls team finished 2^nd out of 10 in the field and the boys team finished 7^th out of 10 in the field. Congratulations to Samantha Savinon-Rios (12^th grade) for finishing first in the girls race with a time of 21:48! There were 94 runners in the girls race. Also scoring for the lady Gators were Keeli Holloway (12^th grade) finishing 5^th with a time of 23:12, Madison Donlon (10^th grade) finishing 25^th with a time of 30:06, Olivia Sanders (11^th grade) finishing 26^th with a time of 30:15, and Whitney Moore (12^th grade) finishing 28^th with a time of 31:55. Scoring for the Boys were Caleb Wise (10^th grade) finishing 4^th with a time of 19:32, Silas Mixon (9^th grade) finishing 40^th with a time of 22:49, Jesus Oropeza (12^th grade) finishing 46^th with a time of 23:42, D’Marion Zanders (10^th grade) finishing 55^th with a time of 23:42, and Hayden Clement (11^th grade) finishing 58^th with a time of 23:48. There were 140 runners in the race.

The Gators and Lady Gators will be travelling to Jekyll Island next Saturday 9/2/23 for the Jekyll Island Invitational. The first race is at 7:15 AM.
