Rain, Heat, and running! Jekyll Island Invitational

The Gator Cross Country teams competed in the Jekyll Island Invitational this Saturday with the Girls Varsity
team placing 14th out of 23 teams and the Boys Varsity team placing 20th out of 26 teams. 

There were a total of 187 runners in the girls varsity race and 231 runners in the boys varsity race. 
Running varsity for the Girls were Bailey Moore (Jr.) placing 63rd with a time of 24:20,
Evie Brown (Fr.) placing 82nd with a time of 24:57, Selina Ocadiz (Fr.) placing 84th with a time of 25:03,
Anne Lin (Sr.) placing 137th with a time of 29:00, Kendall Moore (Jr.) placing 142nd with a time of 29:35,
Brittany Newman (Jr.) placing 155th with a time of 31:30, Ashleigh Griffis (Jr.) placing 174th with a time of 36:21,
and Lizzy Cox (So.) placing 180th with a time of 39:04. 
Running for the boys were Ethan Frye (Sr.) placing 45th with a time of 18:56,
Colin Brown (Fr.) placing 104th with a time of 20:35, Landon Hendrix (Fr.) placing 138th with a time of 21:11,
Xzavius Butler (Jr.) placing 152nd with a time of 21:35, Dakota Walker (Sr.) placing 161st with a time of 21:49,
Timothy Musgrove (So.) placing 177th with a time of 22:35, Dylan Capps (Jr.) placing 190th with a time of 23:45,
Carson Rios (Jr.) placing 201st with a time of 23:51, Jojo Callahan (So.) placing 210th with a time of 24:59,
and Evan Smoak (Sr.) placing 219th with a time of 25:45.  Running in the JV open were Jesus Hernandez (Sr.),
Paul Crawford (Jr.), Kobie Turner (Sr.), Enoch Wimberley (Jr.), Jon Robertson (Fr.), and Joseph Barnes (Jr.). 
The Gators will travel to Wayne County Thursday 9/5. The first race will begin at 4:30.
