Ware County Cross Country: October 2023

The Ware County Cross Country teams competed in the Region 1 5A Cross country championship held at Coffee Co. middle school hosted by Coffee Co. HS. The Gators placed 6^th overall as a team and the Lady Gators placed 3^rd, qualifying for the GHSA State cross country championship next week. Running for the Gators were Silas Mixon (9^th grade) placing 20^th with a time of 19:31, Zy Ramsey (12^th grade) placing 24^th with a time of 19:50, Josh Smith (9^th grade) placing 25^th with a time of 20:14, Hayden Clement (11^th grade) placing 30^th with a time of 20:51, Da’Marion Zanders (`10^th grade) placing 34^th with a time of 21:10, Wesley Frye (10^th grade) placing 39^th with a time of 23:32, and Jesus Oropeza (12^th grade) placing 41^st with a time of 24:37. Running for the Lady Gators were Samantha Savinon-Rios (12^th grade) placing 4^th and finishing 1^st team all-region with a time of 20:35, Keeli Holloway (12^th grade) placing 7^th with a time of 21:06, Whitney Moore (12^th grade) placing 20^th with a time of 25:07, Hannah Moore (12^th grade) placing 26^th with a time of 26:02, Olivia Sanders (11^th grade) placing 30^th with a time of 26:28, Madison Donlon (10^th grade) placing 36^th with a time of 29:15, and Denise Guiterrea (12^th grade) placing 37^th with a time of 30:59. The Lady Gators will travel to Carrollton HS for the 5A state cross country championship on Friday Nov.3^rd.
