The Ware County Gator and Lady Gator cross country teams
hosted their first meet of the 2024 season on Thursday 9/5/24. There were 7 teams that participated
including Ware Co., Appling Co., Lanier Co., Long Co., Bradwell Institute,
Wayne Co., and Brantley Co. The Gators
placed 1st as a team in the 7 team field and the Lady Gators placed
4th out of the 7 team field.
Placing for the Gators were Caleb Wise (11th grade) placing 2nd
with a time of 19:15, Brayten Hood (9th grade) placing 7th
with a time of 20:22, Josh Smith (19th grade) placing 9th
with a time of 20:56, Brock Payne (9th grade) placing 10th
with a time of 20:58 and Da’Marion Zanders (11th grade) placing 12th
with a time of 21:04. Placing top five
for the Lady Gators were Destiny Mendoza (11th grade) placing 6th
with a time of 26:07, Olivia Sanders (12th grade) placing 15th
with a time of 28:27, Miracle Patterson (11th grade) placing 21st
with a time of 29:22, Madison Donlon (11th grade) placing 32nd
with a time of 32:02, and Kali Patten (9th grade) placing 35th
with a time of 32:42. There were 86
runners in the Boys race and 61 runners in the Girls race. The Ware Co. cross country teams will be
competing in the 2nd annual Blake Smith Invitational at Coffee Co.
Middle School on Saturday 9/7/24. The
