Senior Night at the Swamp 10/10/24

 

The Ware County cross country teams honored their senior runners on Thursday in a meet with Lanier Co. in the Swamp.  The Gators honored 7 seniors including Olivia Sanders, Daniel Estrada, Trey Kurtz, Hayden Clement, Axel Wright, Stephen Valdez, and Laith Lairsey.  The senior night meet was rescheduled from 10/3/24 due to the hurricane and only one other team out of 10 was able to attend.  There was only one combined race (girls and boys) and a total of 33 runners participated.  There were no team scores kept.  The top Gator, Brayten Hood (9^th grade) placed 1^st overall and ran a 21:00.  The top Lady Gator, Destiney Mendoza (11^th grade) placed 16^th overall in the combined field and 1^st overall for girls in the race, and ran a 25:36.  The Gators next race will be the Class 4A Section 1 meet (Regions 1, 2, 4, 8) to be held at Jones County HS on Nov. 2^nd.  The Boys will race at 9:00 AM and the Girls will race at 9:45 AM.  For meet information visit https://ga.milesplit.com/meets/629156-ghsa-4a-sectional-1-regions-1248-2024/info and https://www.ghsa.net/2024-ghsa-cross-country-sectional-hosts  For senior night pic and Gator XC news visit www.wchscc.blogspot.com  Individual times are listed below:
