Jekyll Island Invitational 9/3/22

 

The Ware County cross country teams competed in the Jekyll Island Invitational this past Saturday hosted by Brunswick HS and held at the Great Dunes Golf Course on Jekyll Island.  The Boys Varsity race hosted 26 teams and there were 179 runners competing in the race. The Girls Varsity race hosted 18 teams and there were 133 runners in the race.  
The Ware County Gators placed 22^nd of the 26 teams in the field.  Running for the gators were Caleb Wise (9^th grade) placing 84^th with a time of 19:22, Jon Robertson (12^th grade) placing 114^th with a time of 20:41, Kamani Gainer (11^th grade) placing 122^nd with a time of 20:53, Landon Hendrix (12^th grade) placing 148^th with a time of 22:22, Zy Ramsey (11^th grade) placing 153^rd with a time of 22:41, Corbett Nettles (10^th grade) placing 168^th with a time of 24:17, and Landon Nettles (11^th grade) placing 174^th with a time of 25:34.  
The Lady Gators had a great day placing 4^th out of the 18 team field.  Running for the Lady Gators were Samantha Savinon-Rios (11^th grade) placing 14^th with a time of 21:39, Keeli Holloway (11^th grade) placing 23^rd with a time of 22:17, Selena Ocadiz (12^th grade) placing 30^th with a time of 22:44, Evie Brown (12^th grade) placing 91^st with a time of 26:19, Madison Boland (10^th grade) placing 97^th with a time of 27:06, Olivia Sanders (10^th grade) finishing 116^th with a time of 29:52, and Madison Donlon (9^th grade) placing 117^th with a time of 30:03.  
Ware County will be travelling to Long County on Wed. 9/7/22.  
The first race will begin at 4:30 PM.
