Ware County Cross Country: Southern Georgia XC Championship Hosted by Jeff Davis High School 9/15/22

The Ware County cross country teams travelled to Jeff Davis Middle School on Thursday to compete in the Southern Georgia XC Championship hosted by Jeff Davis High School. The event was massive with close to 1000 runners competing in the middle school and high school races. The Gators placed 16^th of the 27 teams in the Boys varsity race which hosted 193 runners, scoring 374 points. Scoring for the Gators were Zy Ramsey (11^th grade) placing 60^th with a time of 20:04, Caleb Wise (9^th grade) placing 62^nd with a time of 20:07, Jon Robertson (12^th grade) placing 72^nd with a time of 20:22, Kamani Gainer (11^th grade) placing 80^th with a time of 20:31, and Landon Hendrix (12^th grade) placing 106^th with a time of 21:26. Also running in the varsity race for the Boys were Landon Nettles (11^th grade) placing 156^th with a time of 23:48 and Corbett Nettles (10^th grade) placing 168^th with a time of 24:36.

The Lady Gators had a great run placing 4^th overall in the field of 19 teams scoring 140 points. There were 155 runners in the Girls varsity race. The lady Gators had 3 runners in the top 20. The top 20 runners in each race received a medal. Scoring for the Lady Gators were Samantha Savinon-Rios (11^th grade) placing 3^rd with a time of 20:55, Selena Ocadiz (12^th grade) placing 14^th with a time of 22:28, Keeli Holloway (11^th grade) placing 19^th with a time of 23:00, Madison Boland (10^th grade) placing 52^nd with a time of 25:16, and Madison Donlon (9^th grade) placing 73^rd with a time of 27:39. Also running varsity for the Lady Gators were Olivia Sanders (10^th grade) placing 83^rd with a time of 27:57 and Lindsy Moore (10^th grade) placing 93^rd with a time of 28:38. Running in the open JV race for the Gators and Lady Gators were Alondra Rios-Ragel (10^th grade) placing 6^th out 48 female JV runners with a time of 28:18, Jesus Oropeza (11^th grade) placing 46^th with a time of 23:37, Wesley Frye (9^th grade) placing 72^nd with a time of 25:11, Gavin Bennett (11^th grade) placing 82^nd with a time of 25:56, and Stephen Valdez (9^th grade) placing 102^nd with a time of 27:20. There were 130 boys competing in the JV open race.

The Gators and Lady Gators will be travelling to Toombs Co. to run in the Bulldog Invitational on Thursday 9/22/22. The race will be held at Toombs Co. HS. The first race begins at 5:00 PM
