Bulldog Invitational - Toombs County 9/23/2022



The Ware County cross country teams raced in the Bulldog Invitational Thursday hosted by Toombs County HS.  The Gators ran in a field of 18 teams and finished 11th overall scoring 263 points.  The Lady Gators finished 2nd overall in a field of 5 teams scoring 83 points.  The Boys race hosted a total of 217 runners.  Running for the gators were Jon Robertson (12th grade) placing 31st with a time of 20:48, Caleb Wise (9th grade) placing 34th with a time of 21:01, Kamani Gainer (11th grade) placing 57th with a time of 22:17, Hayden Clement (10th grade) placing 78th with a time of 23:28, Jesus Oropeza (11th grade) placing 96th with a time of 24:25, Landon Nettles (11th grade) placing 99th with a time of 24:38, Wesley Frye (9th grade) placing 119th with a time of 25:48, Corbett Nettles (10th grade) placing 130th with a time of 26:17, and Stephen Valdez (9th grade) placing 156th with a  time of 28:02.  The Lady Gators had another nice run placing 2 in the top 20 in a field of 131 runners.  Running for the Lady Gators were Samantha Savinon-Rios (11th grade) placing 2nd with a time of 21:22, Keeli Holloway (11th grade) placing 3rd with a time of 22:15, Madison Donlon (9th grade) placing 33rd with a time of 28:02, Evie Brown (12th grade) placing 34th with a time of 28:03, Madison Boland (10th grade) placing 35th with a time of 28:28, Alondra Rios-Rangel (10th grade) placing 36th with a time of 29:09, Olivia Sanders (10th grade) placing 39th with a time of 29:57, and Lindsy Moore (10th grade) placing 62nd with a time of 32:31. 

               The top 5 teams for the boys were:

1.      Jeff Davis HS – 45 points

2.      Vidalia – 61 points

3.      Coffee Co. – 110 points

4.      Tattnall Co. – 169 points

5.      Brunswick HS – 190 points

The top 5 teams for the Girls were:

1.      Jeff Davis HS – 53 points

2.      Ware Co. – 83 points

3.      Islands HS – 96 points

4.      Statesboro HS – 158 points

5.      Pierce Co. – 161 points

 The Ware Co. Runners will be competing Saturday 9/24/22 at Tift Area Academy in the Panther Prowl.  The first race will begin at 9 AM.

Southern Georgia XC Championship Hosted by Jeff Davis High School 9/15/22

 

The Ware County cross country teams travelled to Jeff Davis Middle School on Thursday to compete in the Southern Georgia XC Championship hosted by Jeff Davis High School.  The event was massive with close to 1000 runners competing in the middle school and high school races.  The Gators placed 16th of the 27 teams in the Boys varsity race which hosted 193 runners, scoring 374 points.  Scoring for the Gators were Zy Ramsey (11th grade) placing 60th with a time of 20:04, Caleb Wise (9th grade) placing 62nd with a time of 20:07, Jon Robertson (12th grade) placing 72nd with a time of 20:22, Kamani Gainer (11th grade) placing 80th with a time of 20:31, and Landon Hendrix (12th grade) placing 106th with a time of 21:26.  Also running in the varsity race for the Boys were Landon Nettles (11th grade) placing 156th with a time of 23:48 and Corbett Nettles (10th grade) placing 168th with a time of 24:36.  


The Lady Gators had a great run placing 4th overall in the field of 19 teams scoring 140 points.  There were 155 runners in the Girls varsity race.  The lady Gators had 3 runners in the top 20.  The top 20 runners in each race received a medal.  Scoring for the Lady Gators were Samantha Savinon-Rios (11th grade) placing 3rd with a time of 20:55, Selena Ocadiz (12th grade) placing 14th with a time of 22:28, Keeli Holloway (11th grade) placing 19th with a time of 23:00, Madison Boland (10th grade) placing 52nd with a time of 25:16, and Madison Donlon (9th grade) placing 73rd with a time of 27:39.  Also running varsity for the Lady Gators were Olivia Sanders (10th grade) placing 83rd with a time of 27:57 and Lindsy Moore (10th grade) placing 93rd with a time of 28:38.  Running in the open JV race for the Gators and Lady Gators were Alondra Rios-Ragel (10th grade) placing 6th out 48 female JV runners with a time of 28:18, Jesus Oropeza (11th grade) placing 46th with a time of 23:37, Wesley Frye (9th grade) placing 72nd with a time of 25:11, Gavin Bennett (11th grade) placing 82nd with a time of 25:56, and Stephen Valdez (9th grade) placing 102nd with a time of 27:20.  There were 130 boys competing in the JV open race.  

The Gators and Lady Gators will be travelling to Toombs Co. to run in the Bulldog Invitational on Thursday 9/22/22.  The race will be held at Toombs Co. HS.  The first race begins at 5:00 PM

Results - Long County High School Wednesday 9/7/22


The Ware County Cross Country teams competed at Long County on Wednesday with the Gators placing 7th overall, scoring 140 points in the 14-team field, and the Lady Gators finishing 1st in the 10-team field scoring 26 points, bringing home their first championship team finish of the 2022 season.  
The Boys race hosted 115 runners and the Girls race hosted 90 runners.  Scoring for the Gators were Zy Ramsey (11th grade) placing 18th with a time of 20:45, Jon Robertson (12th grade) placing 19th with a time of 20:49, Kamani Gainer (11th grade) placing 28th with a time of 21:40, Caleb Wise (9th grade) placing 33rd with a time of 21:50, and Landon Hendrix (12th grade) placing 42nd with a time of 22:38.  Also running for the Gators were Hayden Clement (10th grade – 23:44), Landon Nettles (11th grade – 24:11), Corbett Nettles (10th grade – 24:52), Jesus Oropeza (11th grade – 25:20), Wesley Frye (9th grade – 26:50) and Stephen Valdez (10th grade – 28:59).
  



The Lady gators had a great day with all 5 scoring runners placing in the top 10.  The top 10 runners in this race received a tee shirt and the team received a plaque as race champions.  Scoring for the Lady Gators were Samantha Savinon-Rios (11th grade) placing 2nd with a time of 21:25, Keeli Holloway (11th grade) placing 3rd with a time of 22:32, Selena Ocadiz (12th grade) placing 4th with a time of 22:59, Madison Boland (10th grade) placing 8th with a time of 26:18, and Evie Brown (12th grade) placing 9th with a time of 26:35.  Also running for the Lady Gators were Madison Donlon (9th grade – 30:30) and Olivia Sanders (10th grade – 33:01).  

The Ware County runners will be competing again next Thursday at the Southern GA XC championship hosted by Jeff-Davis HS.  The race will be held at Jeff-Davis middle school.  The first race will begin at 5:15.

Jekyll Island Invitational 9/3/22

 





The Ware County cross country teams competed in the Jekyll Island Invitational this past Saturday hosted by Brunswick HS and held at the Great Dunes Golf Course on Jekyll Island.  The Boys Varsity race hosted 26 teams and there were 179 runners competing in the race. The Girls Varsity race hosted 18 teams and there were 133 runners in the race.  
The Ware County Gators placed 22nd of the 26 teams in the field.  Running for the gators were Caleb Wise (9th grade) placing 84th with a time of 19:22, Jon Robertson (12th grade) placing 114th with a time of 20:41, Kamani Gainer (11th grade) placing 122nd with a time of 20:53, Landon Hendrix (12th grade) placing 148th with a time of 22:22, Zy Ramsey (11th grade) placing 153rd with a time of 22:41, Corbett Nettles (10th grade) placing 168th with a time of 24:17, and Landon Nettles (11th grade) placing 174th with a time of 25:34.  
The Lady Gators had a great day placing 4th out of the 18 team field.  Running for the Lady Gators were Samantha Savinon-Rios (11th grade) placing 14th with a time of 21:39, Keeli Holloway (11th grade) placing 23rd with a time of 22:17, Selena Ocadiz (12th grade) placing 30th with a time of 22:44, Evie Brown (12th grade) placing 91st with a time of 26:19, Madison Boland (10th grade) placing 97th with a time of 27:06, Olivia Sanders (10th grade) finishing 116th with a time of 29:52, and Madison Donlon (9th grade) placing 117th with a time of 30:03.  
Ware County will be travelling to Long County on Wed. 9/7/22.  
The first race will begin at 4:30 PM.
