The Gators traveled to Wayne Co. Thursday to compete in the Region 2 AAAAA Cross Country championship hosted by Wayne Co. High School. The top 4 teams in each region advance to the AAAAA state cross country championship to be held at Carrollton HS next Friday 11/1/19. 
The Gators qualified both the Boys and Girls teams for the state championship race next weekend. The Gator Boys placed 4th in the region to advance and the Lady Gators placed 2nd in the region to advance to the state championship. Running for the Boys were Ethan Frye (sr) Placing 6th (all region) with a time of 17:28, Byron McKelvin (sr) placing 12th with a time of 18:15, Colin Brown (fr) placing 20th with a time of 19:07, Landon Hendrix (fr) placing 22nd with a time of 19:44, Xzavius Butler (jr) placing 23rd with a time of 19:52, Josh Troupe (jr) placing 24th with a time of 20:04, and Timothy Musgrove (fr) placing 27th with a time of 20:52. The Lady Gators had a great race with Evie Brown (fr) leading the way placing 4th (all region) with a time of 22:47, followed closely by senior Aaliyah Sandiford placing 5th (all region) with a time of 22:57, Selina Ocadiz (fr) placing 9th with a time of 23:27, Mia Sandiford (sr) placing 10th with a time of 23:29, Anne Lin (sr) placing 17th with a time of 26:09, Kendall Moore (jr) placing 19th with a time of 26:59, and Brittany Newman (jr) placing 22nd with a time of 28:28.
