The Ware County Cross Country teams competed in the GHSA Class 5A State Cross Country Championship on Saturday 11/5/22 at Carrollton High School. The Gators placed 30th overall scoring 833 points in the field of 32 teams, and the Lady Gators placed 17th overall scoring 454 points in the field of 31 teams. Congratulations goes out to junior Samantha Savinon-Rios for finishing 9th overall out of 211 runners and medaling in the Girls race with a time of 21:08. The boys race hosted 221 runners. Running for the Gators were freshman Caleb Wise finishing 124th with a time of 19:56, junior Kamani Gainer finishing 169th with a time of 20:50, senior Jon Robertson finishing 173rd with a time of 21:04, senior Landon Hendrix finishing 186th with a time of 21:28, sophomore Hayden Clement Finishing 205th with a time of 22:42, junior Zy Ramsey finishing 212th with a time of 23:08, and junior Jesus Oropeza finishing 221st with a time of 24:45. Running for the Lady Gators were junior Samantha Savinon-Rios finishing 9th with a time of 21:08, senior Selina Ocadiz finishing 60th with a time of 23:32, junior Keeli Holloway finishing 64th with a time of 23:48, sophomore Alondra Rios-Rangel finishing 168th with a tme of 28:34, freshman Madison Donlon finishing 170th with a time of 28:37, and sophomore Olivia Sanders finishing 185th with a time of 29:49. This event concludes the 2022 season.
