The Gator Country teams competed in the 5th annual Southern Georgia XC Championship held at Jeff Davis Middle School and hosted by Jeff Davis High School on Thursday 9/23/21. The Gators placed 23rd out of 25 teams in the field while the Lady Gators placed 3rd overall out of 20 teams in the field and they won the large school division (Classes 5A – 7A). The boys race hosted 308 runners and the girls race hosted 188 runners. The top 5 Gators were Jon Robertson (jr.) Placing 81st with a time of 20:46, Landon Nettles (so.) placing 201st with a time of 23:26, Corbitt Nettles (fr.) placing 207th with a time of 23:36, Hayden Clement (fr.) placing 215th with a time of 23:57, and Gavin Bennett (so.) placing 218th with a time of 24:09. Also running for the Gators were Wyatt Deal (so.) placing 257th with a time of 26:26, Jesus Oropeza (so.) placing 274th with a time of 27:25, and Caleb Freelove (sr.) placing 275th with a time of 27:31. The Lady Gators had 2 runners medal in the race. The top 20 runners in the race received medals. Selina Ocadiz (jr.) placed 11th with a time of 22:15 and Keeli Holloway (so.) placed 16th with a time of 22:38. Also scoring in the top 5 for the Lady Gators were Evie Brown (jr.) placing 32nd with a time of 23:54, Whitney Moore (so.) placing 41st with a time of 24:27, and Samantha Savinon Rios (so.) placing 55th with a time of 25:24. Also running for the Lady Gators were Lindsy Moore (fr.) placing 59th with a time of 25:31, Hannah Moore (so.) placing 70th with a time of 26:20, Olivia Sanders (fr.) placing 83rd with a time of 27:04, Madison Boland (fr.) placing 87th with a time of 27:15, and Jaiden Addison (fr.) placing 166th with a time of 34:12.
The Cross Country teams will be travelling to Wayne County on Thursday 9/30/21. The first race begins at 4:30 PM.
