Results - Long County High School Wednesday 9/7/22


The Ware County Cross Country teams competed at Long County on Wednesday with the Gators placing 7th overall, scoring 140 points in the 14-team field, and the Lady Gators finishing 1st in the 10-team field scoring 26 points, bringing home their first championship team finish of the 2022 season.  
The Boys race hosted 115 runners and the Girls race hosted 90 runners.  Scoring for the Gators were Zy Ramsey (11th grade) placing 18th with a time of 20:45, Jon Robertson (12th grade) placing 19th with a time of 20:49, Kamani Gainer (11th grade) placing 28th with a time of 21:40, Caleb Wise (9th grade) placing 33rd with a time of 21:50, and Landon Hendrix (12th grade) placing 42nd with a time of 22:38.  Also running for the Gators were Hayden Clement (10th grade – 23:44), Landon Nettles (11th grade – 24:11), Corbett Nettles (10th grade – 24:52), Jesus Oropeza (11th grade – 25:20), Wesley Frye (9th grade – 26:50) and Stephen Valdez (10th grade – 28:59).
  



The Lady gators had a great day with all 5 scoring runners placing in the top 10.  The top 10 runners in this race received a tee shirt and the team received a plaque as race champions.  Scoring for the Lady Gators were Samantha Savinon-Rios (11th grade) placing 2nd with a time of 21:25, Keeli Holloway (11th grade) placing 3rd with a time of 22:32, Selena Ocadiz (12th grade) placing 4th with a time of 22:59, Madison Boland (10th grade) placing 8th with a time of 26:18, and Evie Brown (12th grade) placing 9th with a time of 26:35.  Also running for the Lady Gators were Madison Donlon (9th grade – 30:30) and Olivia Sanders (10th grade – 33:01).  

The Ware County runners will be competing again next Thursday at the Southern GA XC championship hosted by Jeff-Davis HS.  The race will be held at Jeff-Davis middle school.  The first race will begin at 5:15.
