The Gator cross country teams competed at Wayne Co. on Thursday 9/7/23. There were 14 teams in the event. The Lady Gators placed 1st in their field and the Gators finished 10th overall in the varsity races. There were 93 finishers in the Girls varsity race and 103 finishers in the Boys varsity race.
Running for the Lady Gators were Samantha Savinon-Rios (12th grade) finishing 2nd with a time of 21:25, Keeli Holloway (12th grade) finishing 3rd with a time of 21:58, Whitney Moore (12th grade) finishing 16th with a time of 25:51, Hannah Moore (12th grade) finishing 31st with a time of 27:42, Madison Donlon (10th grade) finishing 49th with a time of 29:35, and Zicoria Riggs (11th grade) finishing 70th with a time of 32:24.
Running for the Gators were Jesus Oropeza (12th grade) finishing 43rd with a time of 21:16, Silas Mixon (9th grade) finishing 51st with a time of 21:28, Zy Ramsey (12th grade) finishing 55th with a time of 21:46, Da’Marion Zanders (10th grade) finishing 63rd with a time of 22:28, Hayden Clement (11th grade) finishing 65th with a time of 22:32, Wesley Frye (10th grade) finishing 68th with a time of 22:40, and Josh Smith (9th grade) finishing 76th with a time of 23:42.
The Gators will be travelling to Jeff Davis on Thursday 9/14/23 to compete in the Souther Ga. XC championship to be held at Jeff-Davis middle school. This is a HUGE event that hosts over 600 runners each tear. The JV race will begin at 5:15, Boys Varsity will start at 6:00, and Girls Varsity is scheduled to begin at 6:35.
